Share Sharecenter_img Tweet Share Kasia Rivera (Photo: Dailymail.com)NEWARK, New Jersey (AP) — A Jamaican woman who caused a man’s death by injecting silicone into his penis has been sentenced to five years in state prison.Kasia Rivera, who resides in East Orange, New Jersey, could also be deported to her native Jamaica under the sentence imposed Monday.The 38-year-old woman had pleaded guilty in September to reckless manslaughter, shortly before her trial was to start. She admitted delivering the silicone injection that killed Justin Street in 2011.Authorities say the 22-year-old East Orange man went to Rivera’s home so she could inject his penis with silicone, which he hoped would enlarge it. But the silicone she used wasn’t the kind used for medical procedures, and it caused an embolism which killed him.Rivera acknowledged that she wasn’t a trained doctor or licensed to administer the injection.last_img read more

first_imgHome  »  General  »  Ireland’s GAIN Irish Youth teams bid for glory as FEI European Show Jumping and Eventing Championships get underway Ireland’s GAIN Irish Youth teams bid for glory as FEI European Show Jumping and Eventing Championships get underway The Irish Youth squads for 2019 FEI European Youth Show Jumping and Eventing Championships are sponsored by GAIN Equine Nutrition Equiline – Official athlete clothing supplier of Team Ireland Equestrian Following months of preparation and planning centered around the Horse Sport Ireland High Performance Programme, five Irish teams, all sponsored by GAIN Equine Nutrition, have travelled to two separate venues in The Netherlands this week, as the 2019 FEI European Youth Championships for Show Jumping and Eventing get underway tomorrow, Tuesday.The European Youth Show Jumping Championships take place at Zuidwolde in The Netherlands where James Kernan will manage the three Irish teams – U14 (COH), U18 (Junior) and U21 (Young Rider). The GAIN Irish U14 team will get the action underway on Tuesday with their first competition, with the team medals set to be decided on Thursday followed by individual medals on Saturday. The GAIN Irish U18 and U21 teams face their first round of jumping on Wednesday and will be hoping to be in contention for medals in Friday’s team final while individual medals will be awarded on Sunday.The European Youth Eventing Championships take place just over 100km from Zuidwolde at Maarsbergen where Dag Albert will manage the GAIN Irish U18 Eventing team while Sue Shortt manages the Irish U21 Eventing team. Both competitions get underway on Thursday with the first of two days of Dressage.
