first_imgBlog Japan Airlines awarded highest Skytrax 5-star airline rating Japan Airlines has been awarded the highest 5-star airline rating by Skytrax.Japan Airlines has been awarded Skytrax’s highest airline rating, making it the second Japanese airline to receive the accolade.Skytrax rate airlines based on service quality with comprehensive assessments in up to 800 categories, including service on board, seat comfort, catering, security measures and in-flight entertainment.Since 2013, Japan Airlines has gradually implemented the “JAL SKY WIDER” economy seat on its international routes.In an industry where nine-seats per row is typical for economy class, JAL adopts an eight-seat per row layout for the Boeing 787 aircraft, which provides customers wider seats and more legroom for added comfort.Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax said: “Japan Airlines has worked extremely hard over the last 5-years to truly transform their product and service experience for customers. Without doubt, JAL are now delivering some of the best standards of inflight seating and IFE hardware, and this has been well paired with staff service quality that continues to increase in appeal for both the domestic and International markets.”Japan Airlines will join ten other airlines in the 5-star rating club – Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Asiana Airlines, Hainan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Garuda Indonesia, EVA Air and Etihad Airways.center_img July 20, 20180 Commentslast_img
