This will equate to approximately 8% over the three-year period. The pay deal is being signed today (Friday 5 May 2017) in conjunction with trade union Unite.Unite expects the new pay deal to equate to a minimum 17% increase over three years.A spokesperson at Rolls-Royce said: “Rolls-Royce is pleased to reach this three-year pay deal with employees at our advanced blade casting facility in Rotherham. This agreement is specific to 120 staff members at the site and has been put in place to help ensure the retention of talent, provide career progression and offer long-term stability.”Doug Patterson, regional officer at Unite, added: “While small in number in terms of the workforce, it is one of the largest deals [Rolls-Royce] has agreed in recent years. It has come about because the [organisation] finally accepted what Unite had been saying for some time, that paying the lowest rates in the group was contributing significantly to the high rate of attrition.“We regard this pay deal, following tough negotiations, as a success in these challenging economic times and it demonstrates the strong value of union membership. What individuals will receive depends on whether they are ‘shop floor’ or ‘professional’, but we estimate that for most employees that it will be a minimum of 17% over three years.”last_img
