Rising housing costs topic of film talk at Clark College

first_imgStaff of The Independent, Clark College’s student newspaper, are hosting a documentary film and discussion on gentrification and the resulting effect on housing costs.“Priced Out” traces the story of Portland resident Nikki Williams, who makes the wrenching decision to leave Portland’s Albina neighborhood when it no longer feels like home.The event will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at Gaiser Student Center, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver. A panel discussion with Vancouver economic development planner Andrea Pastor, filmmaker Cornelius Swart and community members will follow the film. And graduate students from Portland State University will discuss their efforts to develop anti-displacement strategies in Vancouver.last_img
