Tax relief could be on the way for Calgary homeowners impacted by flooding in June The Priorities and Finance Committee approved a plan Tuesday which will be forwarded to City Council for consideration later in the month. However, Councillor Diane Colley-Urquhart said they still need to figure out what can be done to help businesses.“We earmarked it [Tuesday] as a priority item and we’ve asked for a report to come forward that will identified all the businesses that will be effected, and then to also take steps to have the province step up to the plate on this one as well,” said Colley-Urquhart.She said at this point they don’t know what the financial hit to the city would be because they don’t know the exact number of home and business owners that will apply.A civic celebration is also in the works for June, 2014 to celebrate how Calgarians came together during last summer’s flooding disaster.
